Silicon Prairie News has posted a story about 1 Million Cups and a photo of Torsion Mobile co-founder and CEO Christian Gurney during his presentation. Check out the entire story here.
Torsion Mobile CEO Christian Gurney was asked by Jeff Coon of Brookfield, WI-based Stream Creative, to provide some tips for businesses weighing the decision to construct a native mobile application or build a mobile website. Coon’s article Does your business need a mobile app?, appears on the Co-Grow website, a resource of the Collaborative Growth Network.
Torsion Mobile co-founder and president Christian Gurney quoted in a Tech Cocktail story, “10 Motivation Strategies for Entrepreneurs” by Kira M. Newman.
“As a leader, motivation is essential because having it or lacking it is infectious,” says Christian Gurney, the CEO of Torsion Mobile. “I think of the team and how I am responsible to them to make each day worthwhile and rewarding.”
When you are proposing to disrupt the way people think about things, its often hard to get noticed. Moving from mobile native apps to mobile website development is no different. So when Torsion Mobile appeared on the inaugural Mobile Startups to Watch – the Final 40 authored by Jeff Vance, contributor to Forbes.com, Network World, CIO, Datamation, Wi-Fi Planet, Cloudbook and many others, we were excited. Native apps get a lot of ink but we think the future is not locked up in apps. We have focused on putting mobile website creation in the hands of those who can drive content. rather than programming. That belief is what gave birth to Torsion Mobile as a company and Mojaba, our first product.
We’re honored and in some impressive company.
Earlier this year, we were fortunate to be asked to share our experiences as a startup business, the startup community in Des Moines, Iowa and as a member of the Startup America Partnership. Some of our story is included in the awesome new video from Startup America.
We’re humbled to be in the company of so many great companies, each of which is contributing to keep our country and our communities moving forward.

Allison Howen of Website Magazine covered the integration of Mojaba® and SurveyMonkey’s Wufoo Form’s in an August 1 post.
“Creating a form that engages consumers can be a difficult task – especially when it comes to optimizing those forms for mobile devices.
However, a new integration between mobile website service provider Mojaba and web application Wufoo offers a simple way for Web workers to not only add forms onto their sites, but also create forms that are accessible over a variety of devices.”
Our (new) friends at Wufoo published a nice post on the support of Wufoo Forms in Mojaba. Read the post here.
Thanks to Wufoo co-founder Kevin Hale, Kate Brennan and all the others at the Wufoo/Survey Monkey team for helping out.
A recent article by Kyle Oppenhuizen of the Des Moines Business Record included comments by Torsion Mobile CEO Christian Gurney. 5 Things Businesses Should Know About Cloud Computing covers questions about private vs public clounds, security, service levels, advantages and getting past the sales pitch.
