Brooke Benschoter Expands Company’s Mobile Products Marketing
DES MOINES, IA – September 6, 2012 — Torsion Mobile announced today the addition of Brooke Benschoter to the company’s management team. Benschoter will serve as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer effective immediately.
“Brooke’s knowledge of integrated marketing inside both agencies and their clients will enhance Torsion Mobile’s ability to create tools to serve the growing demand for mobile solutions,” said Christian Gurney, CEO and co-founder of the Des Moines-based company. “As we continue to help agencies deliver programs for the mobile market, a veteran like Brooke will introduce us to new customers and markets.”
“Agencies of all kinds – from traditional advertising to digital – face the challenge represented by the consumer shift from consuming content on computers to primarily mobile devices,” says Benschoter. “Developing effective customer experiences for the more than 314 million US mobile users is challenging for creative professionals. Torsion Mobile has delivered accessible solutions that benefit both the agency and the customers they serve while keeping profitability and usability in balance.”
Benschoter’s initial focus will be on Torsion Mobile’s offering of Mojaba (pronounced Mo-jah-ba) that enables creative agencies, web designers, and other professionals to design and publish mobile-optimized websites for their clients. Converting a desktop website to a mobile optimized site has historically been a very labor intensive, expensive task.
“Any organization whose target audiences include smartphone users has to think differently about the web content and the sites they are sending those audiences,” says Benschoter. “Communication from advertising to public relations is a different experience on a smartphone and companies are underestimating the value of a positive first impression from a usability standpoint.
Brooke Benschoter has more than 25 years of experience in corporate communications and integrated marketing including branding, advertising and public relations with organizations such as Pioneer Hi-Bred, Meredith Corporation, ITAGroup, National Pork Board and Drake University. Her career started in broadcast journalism as a reporter, producer, and anchor and grew to include agency management and consulting experience at what is now Meyocks Group and Strategic America. Benschoter calls herself a branding geek, having worked with brands that include Kraft, Home Depot, Compaq Computer, Better Homes and Gardens, Tone’s, Frito Lay, USS Iowa, and Mary Engelbreit. Most recently, Brooke was Senior Consultant for Strategic America, a premier channel and field marketing agency located in West Des Moines.
Benschoter has received numerous national and regional awards for her work and has earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation from the Public Relations Society of America. Benschoter received her Masters Degree in Organizational Performance and Leadership from Drake University and her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Creighton University in Omaha.
